about

Welcome along to Drumpoet’s release No. 008. The Lost Men are 3 guys with a couple of years experience in the musicbiz. Bernd Kunz who’s to some of you better known as the man behind „A Forest mighty Black“ released the first ever Compost Record. His musical partner at that time was Rainer Trüby. After moving to Zurich last year he joined in and shared the studiospace with Alex Dallas and Alex Gustafson. Back in the day they were running Straight Ahead Recordings and released their music as Earthbound, when they closed their label after 6 years in 2004, they had a break of releasing music,. In the meantime Alex Dallas started with friends Zurich’s well known clubs Dachkantine and in 2005 the Zukunft. Alex Gustafson became a specialist in Musicdownloads. Since a few months the three started playing around and experimenting again in the studio. With their first release on Drumpoet they created a truly emotional work with 3 cuts. Their musical inspiration came through the machines, switching knobs and starting to jam with old synths, dubbing the mixer and arranging with mute buttons. Against their own musical past which used to be more songbased they created tracks which include the original electronic way of doing things. The were inspired by people like Lee Perry or Kraftwerk to name a few and the early raw music of Chicago and Detroit. What came out is a very strong, unique and personal view on house and techno music. The tracks created a little buzz since they been around on CDR and were playlisted by various DJs like for example Âme. They are currently working on new material and we’re already excited to hear the forthcoming music by The Lost Men.
